Ok, my friend three weeks ago bought his first motorcycle a Honda Shadow or some name like that. Well anyway Friday, he parked his motorcycle outside of a bank. Well anyway when he came out some lady in a minivan knocked over his bike when pulling in. Bent the foot rest, gear shifter, and snapped a bolt with a pivited end. (Almost like a socket wish I had a pic) Anyway he wanted outside for the lady, and when she came out she denied doing anything to it. But what's the absolute BS about it, is that there is a purple scratch on the tank (her color) and there's a nice white scratch on her mini-van.

Well she claimed it happened when she was pulling into the garage and crap. Well he called the cops and they said they couldn't do anything cause it was a she said he said arguement and there were no witnesses. So basically he's screwed and has to pay for the b*tches stupidity.

My question for everyone is, since the shadow is no longer made Honda doesn't have any spare parts, unless he wants to buy like more than what he needs, at $600 a box/set. So does anyone know where else he can look for the part and not have to pay 600 bucks for it? And also does anyone else have a story about someone being an as$ while you've been riding or parked?

well anyways, it sounds like you friend is getting screwed. Well, you could just keep your eyes on craigslist and ebay for parts. Well, that sucks, sorry.

 

Typically a manufacturer makes parts for a discontinued model for a few years after the last one is made.

How was the bike parked? In a stall? Does he have insurance?

 

Parts for a shadow should be easy to come by.

I would schedule a meeting with the bank to see what cameras they have outside. If they help you, you could still pin the lady eh?

So...no insurance? I would have drop kicked every panel of her car with her watching, then completely deny it with a smile on my face.

 

Second thought...Im sure the bank has surveillance cameras.

i encounter a$$hole people all the time when i'm riding - drivers in northern va suck.

as for the parts i have to see eBay having a TON of stuff for the Shadow, just make sure the parts are for the bike and check every week or so since it's an auction site.

 

that blows, i would of follow her home then at night time key her van and slash her tires, that'll teach the bitch a lesson

OT- that's a really sucky situation, but welcome to reality, people are stupid.

I'm sure eBay will have plenty of Shadow parts along with local salvage yards if you have any.

That's what I was wondering. If they have an ATM outside then they would definitely have cameras out there.

Most major banks have a camera or two on the atm and also at all extrances/exits of the building

 

he got the video. He went in there with his lawyer, the cop, and his folks. They show her pulling in knocking it over, walking around her car, to look at it, than walking "swifty" (in the new police report) into the bank. what a b*tch.

Also he found the part on ebay for like 50 bucks. Thanx for your help everyone.

File a civil suit and criminal report. I believe its still a hit and run. She probably wont be convicted of anything but you might get some money from the civil suit and scare her a bit.
