Default Cooling Fan Problems

The fans on my radiator are going out. The one on the Driver side is not working at all... but when i put a hot wire to it it comes on! What is kepping it from turning on when its supposed too is this the reason my car overheats when i run the A/C?

There is a sensor that tells the fan to kick on when the engine is running too hot, I don't remember exactly what the name of that sensor is (I believe that it's called the fan sensor) but that might be going bad if you can give the fan a 12v+ and it kicks on. Try replacing the engine coolant temp sensor and the fan sensor. Those should be somewhere near the radiator hose on the head. GL

On your 82 Accord there is a temp sensor screwed in to the bottom of the radiator, you can jumper the leads to the switch to see if the fans run with the key on.
