so i changed out my alternator bc the voltage regulator was taking a crap on me...switched it out everythings fine...then i go and start the car and the battery light is on and im hearing a slight whining sound coming from the alt....voltage is right where it should be any ideas???

also the belt is on snugly

Is the battery still good? The old alt might have taken it out along with it.

 

i know ther battery is good... i guess ill double check the tension tomorrow

 

if the light is on and its charging you got a bad alt.

 

? i would think that if the light is on and its not charging then its my alt
