Default weird dizzy issue - obd1 vtec dizzy not fitting b16 obd0 head with 00 ctr cams

ok so i have a obd0 b16 head that im using in an obd1 setup. I have an obd1 gsr dizzy (vtec) and 00 CTR cams. The issue is i cant just slide the dizzy in and then bolt it down, i have to push it in as far as i can then screw it down to get it to seat flush.

DO NOT TELL ME TO ROTATE IT 180 IT DoESNT FIT AT ALL IF ROTATED 180

In the current position i can get it in to where the oring is about flush with the cam cap and then i have to screw it in from there. furthermore after un-installing it i saw i have damaged the fins a lil:

So i took the car for a drive and i can feel the ignition is off, it sorta bogs randomly. I havent adjusted the ignition timing at all so it could be that its just off or maybe the dizzy is causing issues becuase it didnt mate correctly?

Im confused, from what i know this dizzy should slide right into the cam... please help! Im leaking oil from the dizzy seal even tho the oring looks brand new!

lil pic of the setup:

Well either way, you wrecked the dizzy or the cam now. Check the cam for damage. Also only thing you can do now is file that buldge out... NEVER force anything in with the "press" method. But looking at the teeth, it looks like you forced it on 180*...

would the teeth on the obd0 dizzy fit the itr cams since they are probably obd2?? Like the up top said....fill the teeth down and it souldnt be a problem.

how could it have been 180 if i started teh car and it runs correctly? If it was firing in reverse it would not run at all i think

The cam is fine, the only "damage" ive seen is on the dizzy.

My car is all obd1 tho so is there an obd1/obd2 type conflict between the dizzy and cam? I know the dizzy is suposed to slide right flush and that is NOT what this is doin....

I plan on getting a new dizzy from advance auto tomorrow, what kind should I ask for if this dizzy is wrong? i thought that all bseries dizzys were the same as far as fins go

They are all the same. Maybe that fin was always a bit damaged or got damaged just before you went to try to put it in.

i know before i put it in the fin didnt have the "*****" in it, im really confused. The cam looks perfect, maybe the fins on the dizzy are slightly bent or something so they arent perfectly straight and thats what i had to force it in?

I mean they went into my last build good but maybe they wehre damaged when i dropped a valve?

Shouls i just try filing it? Couldnt get any worse right?

Dan, b series is b series. i had 01spec ITR cams in my old OBD0 90 RS, and had the 98 CTR cam in the B16 in my teg, which uses an OBD1 dizzy. if i was you, i would just file that dizzy down a little bit. and if u do end up getting a new one from advance, PLEASE do not give them your old one. wait till u get back here and ill give you and old shitty dizzy to give them as a core charge, dont waste all the good parts that are in the one you have now.

ok i think i will file it down tomorrow, cause it wont work anyway now, it leaks.

Should i file both fins or just the "kinked" one?
