Main relay question... possible problems?
I know i'm new to this forum but i have done many searches and cant find any answers i recently bought an 89 ef with a d16a6 swapped in right now i have a car that will turn over all day and never start. first thing i did was buy a new main relay, checked for fuel pressure to the rail cheacked for spark. then i found that the two wires to the number 2 injector where bare and crossed so i taped them off and now when i try to start it some times the relay clicks and the car does nothing and sometimes it doesn't click and i hear the pump prime but the car will not turn over anymore i dont know if the relay has anything to do with that relay or if it is the starter. i'm going crazy with this car help would be great and thanks ahead of time.
i did pull a plug and checked for spark and there is. i also did try fluid and it started for a second but then died right out again. didn't know where to go with it after that.
Then i dont think your getting gas into your engine. Was your car a dpfi and then converted to mpfi? if it was then you need to check your wiring especially on the dizzy.
as far as i can see it wasn't a dpfi i dont see the added wires that the swap intail. i guess my main question is that i changed the relay before i found the crossed injector wires, i was wondering if the crossed wires would be all it takes to ruin the relay or if it could have ruined anything else ie resistor box, ecu, etc. thanks for replys.
