Default what the hell is wrong?!

ok, I dont have much info...I was driving, and then i turn my music down, as im pulling into friends drive, i hear a strange noise comming from my car, a rattle squeal, hard to describe. I go in for 10 mins, go to leave to drive home, so I can hopefully find wtf is up with my car, I was going to drive home, cause I figured it could have been making the noise the whole way to my friends, since my music was up i couldnt hear it anyway.

so I drive maybe, 2-3 blocks listening to the sound, rpm related for sure, then it just dies, i was babeing it the 3 blocks, then i feel something break, not violently but nonetheless something broke, then it died at the same time i felt something give i was in 2nd gear at about 1.5k-2k. I pull over, and i give it a crank, knowing i HAVE to get to work soon...wont start, just cranks, i can tell it will nto start...now it sits on the side of the road...

So now, wtf is it, timing belt!??!

I checked what i could for it being dark, and me only having a lighter, i could see all visible belts r ok, now if it is my T belt, i know when these break they can damage valves? what are my chances my motor is still ok...considering my rpms were quite low when whatever happenned happened.

When I go back later, what are some easy to check things...?

What should I look for?

What should I tell my mechanics??

Any advise really woudl be great

uhh yea stock d15z1 186k...if it matters.

P.S. I have a very dieing waterpump, could that breaking cause this? It has been leaking for over a year, and has gotten worse, and has started to do the infamouse dead waterpump rattle...just trying to give as much info as I can.

Thnc for any advice!

I had something similar with mine 95 EX Coupe, if the oil light flickers its the oil pump and I still drove it like that and spun a rod bearing. I am rebuilding my car now. Take it to a mechanic shop before you do serious damage.

most likely timing belt, water pump bearing probably seized and threw the belt, hence the breaking sound. take the oil cap off, have someone crank it, watch the rockers, if they dont move, broke the belt.

no problem, w/ the rpm's that low theres a SLIGHT chance you didnt hurt anything, but i doubt it.

Yea, I may end up doing this...just i cant do the swap : /

Im sure this is an easy question, but if I were to jump on the d15b from hmotors, what all would I need to complete this swap http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30019

all the o2 wiring stuff is the same. if you use a chipped ecu you can get by w/out all that wiring nonsense.

dont consider it bullshit, consider it a nice way to upgrade performance, just to give you an idea, broke a d16z6 axle, swapped in an h22, spun the h22 bearing, doing a 500-600whp build up with the h2b...upgrades are what the games about.

Yea that be great if I didnt have a 30 mile commute to and from work, and I work monday...and no one to car pool w/

By bullshit I mean, getting my car to someplace to work on it, and convincing my bro to borrow me the cash to fix this ****, cause I dont get paid till next week...

yeah ive been down that bullshit kinda road, my car is a daily driver as well. Im not saying you have to go to such an extreme...but the ease of a d series swap is straightforward.
