Default turboXs mbc ?

OK tried searching im doing a DIY turbo kit still getting all the parts. My ? is on my turbo off a volvo it has an internal wg and it is set at 7psi stock, I have a turboxs mbc I was told that I can use that to lower the boost down to 5psi but to my understanding of my search attempt it can only raise my boost right. So I noticed on the botton of the wg shaft there are some threads that I can twist up is that to lower the boost or raise it if any thanks any help would be helpful.

Your lowest boost will be determined by the spring in the wastegate. You can set the <TurboXS> boost controller to 5 pounds, but the wastegate is not going to open until it gets to 7 PSI...assuming thats what spring is in there.

The reason a boost controller can raise boost levels is because it keeps the pressure signal from getting to the wastegate until a certain level (say 15 PSI), when it hits 15 PSI the boost controller lets the signal flow through and it hits the wastegate, which sees something way over 7 PSI and opens.

I think the threads on the wastgate shaft are to adjust the "load" or "pretension" or something like that. Alof of the guys in the SRT-4 camp adjust them to slightly raise boost levels, but again you are probably going to have a lower limit of whatever the spring is.
