Default DOHC ZC knocking???????

ok i just changed the iol today i put a K&N oil filter like i always do,but then instead of buying castrol gtx high milege i got moible clean 5000, 10-30w well i got it all changed and i drove it for few hours, well i went to the store and when i left i got on it and it started knocking.i limed it home and lifted the hood and hit the throttle well it sounds like the knocking is coming from center of the valve cover.i took the cover off seen nuttin wrong.does anyone have any ideal on what this could be.btw it seems every now and then when driving it home it would grind (soft grind like the clutch wasnt in all the way but it was) going into gear but then sometimes it wouldnt.i cant tell u more couse it got dark.im waiting for it to compelty cool so i can check the oil but i know i put the right amount in there.its not throwing any codes or an oil light.

like 3-4 weeks before this my cam gears was making funny rattling sound??then when it warms up it would go away??

i also wanted to add it is full with oil now it sat and all the oil is settled.to be honest since i put the zc in the car i never checked the valve lash on it.i dont think it was a spun bearing cause i limped it go a good 15 20 miles lil more.

ok guy update its throwing no codes and it wont go in any gear.im starting to think the tranny just took a **** on me.now this is my second si tranny i went though does anyone eles have probs with the sohc tranny.does the zc mess thm up after awhile cause of the tq of the dohc, and the single cam tranny cant handle the tq. of a dual cam.i poped off each wire while the engine was runing it it still was knocking.so i know it cant be a spun bearing.everything in the head is good and tight.my zc is all stock so theres no way in hell i could have snaped a rod,(its still firing on 4 cly..just wont go in gear now.when i put it in reveres it make small grinding sound and the clutch is in all the way.no cel no oil light

that not right. just cause you made one cylinder not fire doesnt mean its still not moving the crank shaft makes it move if you understand the basic theory of a motor you will understand. what you need to do is find out exactly where the knock is coming from. the zc doesnt make that much torque to break a tranny although the single cam trannys are very weak. hows your clutch and clutch cable?

im going with barrings dude. i had something like that happen to me.
i bought it from someone and i changed the oil and it started knocking,
and i thought it was valve lash cause that what it sounded like. i even changed the head and it still made that sound. and it was the barrings. also.. check your timing.
just for the hell of it. if your timing jumped your car will make all kinds of silly noises
