ok i want to know your guys opinions on something. I have an 89 Civic Si that im rattle-canning flat black. I have 91 Civic Si rims on it right now and its slammed on coilovers. Now i was wondering should i keep the wheels black or paint them bronze. Its a bright bronze, almost gold but isnt totally gold. So anyway wat would look better on a flat black car? Black or bronze rims? or

why not just put a sign on the back that says:

cops- pull me over.

thieves- steal me.

 

the rims wouldnt be rattle canned and i have no choice then a rattle can paint job because i dont have the money to do anything else right now...and i might not even do rattle can i might do a flat black the right way...dunno yet

I was thinking the EXACT same thing... I have bronze hx's, and i don't see cops gawking at me, much less pulling me over.

If I was a thief, I'd personally only worry about stealing regular wheels. i imagine they would sell better. haha.

 

my opinion black on black on my ef cops bother alot i would go with the bronze

I preffer chrome or silver on black. Why are you spray painting you're car? Why not a cheap paint job? Or, do it yourself w/ real auto paint. There are always better options. Or, spray it in black primer. That way you wouldn't need all the prep time it takes to sand all the b/s off your car. And, you can get flat black primer.

Really I've been flat black on my beater for 2 years now, only been pulled over once when I shouldn't have been, and that was for a front plate violation. I've also been pulled over twice when I should have been. Never been broken into either. It is Flat black with silver HX wheels, though. Bronze should look allright though.

 

im using flat black primer not actual spray paint cuz im doin an actual paint job (spray gun, air compressor, auto paint) afterwards its just right now i need to get all the body work covered up for when i drive it to skool...so to me for that one lol....yea i think bronze will look good and as for streetwerkz, one of my friends has a bright red ek that he keeps getting pulled over in, another friend has a flat black (cuz the paint faded) eg and he barely ever gets pulled over. Neither have been broken into...yet...

i race as much as the next guy and all three of my hondas are red, got a perfect driving record w no points and never get pulled over. i dunno, go figure.

white wheels in my opinion.

 

id go with bronze, and if you cant afford a paintjob, just do the 50 paintjob, turns out good if u take ur time.

 

where i am from, spray painted cars get pulled over all the time.


but hey, its your car.... i personally like glossy paint.

after all the title of the thread is 'give opinions'. honestly, i find most ef owners choose to mod their cars in the most ghetto ways....

thats what i like to hear.

 

you know primer doesnt last forever, and it lets moisture in which leads to rust. but after a short time your primer will flake off and/or fade out.
and just my opinion, i love the OEM bronze color, if i had that i wouldnt've painted my hatch gunmetal.

 

my 91 dx is red with prmier spots (doing body work) i havn't gotten around to fully painting it grey but i've been pull over and ticket for not having a pass mirror. last nite pull over for nothing. and one weekend i was pulled over 4 days in a row. but i think the rims should be black on black

A ticket for not having a passenger mirror? Some cars (including some CRX HFs, I think) come with only a driver's side mirror from the factory and just a block-off plate on the passenger side. That cop must have REALLY wanted to pull you over.

</TD></TR></TABLE>You don't have a choice??? wtf. You have the choice to leave it the f.uc.k alone and don't spraycan it. it will look like ****. I drove around with paint fading for Over a year while saving up money for a compressor and paint. much better than driving around in a spraycan job. trust me people will laugh at that s.hi.t and they have the right to. take your time and do it right. your gonna waste money on spray paint that could go towards doing the job right. nothing personal. just IMO.

if the paint is just faded, just buff it out, you'd be surprised how big of a difference it will be.

 

that's what i want to do but i'm fixing all the rust so it's red with primer spots. i dont know if i should primer it all or not. and plus if i primer it dont you need to tell dmv???
