B18c1 All motor build questions
hey guys Im looking to do a N/A Build B18c1 swap in my 89 Civic Si. Just have a couple questions
1)Why do u need to get your rods resized with the installation of the ARP rod bolts?
2)what are LMA's and by the sounds of it bigger is better???
3)For a setup like this is a stock gsr oil pump acceptable?
4)Would B16 or B18c1 fuel injectors be good for this setup or would he have to upgrade? Fuel rail?
5) For the P73 JDM ITR Pistons, those are the pistons where the rod has to be modified for the ITR Pistons to work right? Not for the P30? Im not gonna switch rods...Gonna use the stock GSR Rods with new rod bearings
6) What does this mean "if you're going to buy new pistons buy .5mm OS and do yourself a favour and bore/hone the block to start fresh". I told him that I would be using the P30 or P73 pistons but I dont wanna bore the block...I just want a fresh surface in the cylinder walls. Maybe the .5 mm is the piston rings???
7) Will I be able to use the stock gsr IM for a setup like this or what kind of air flow devices would U guys recommend as far as IM and TB?
8) As for the Main Studs, I was also told that I should get them line honed cause they get torqued down a lot tighter than stock bolts so there is a chance of the main journals getting distorted? What does this mean?
Its gonna be my first build so I could really use some experienced help cause all of the money that I have is going into this build and god forbid anything happens to do the motor from something stupid I forgot
