Fuel Tank Sump?
May be a stupid question, but the only stupid question is the one not asked.
Did a quick search and didnt come up with anything.
My question:
I have seen quite a few posts with people who have added a sump to their fuel tanks. What is the benefit to doing this type of setup.
Is it so that you can run an external fuel pump such as an aeromotive unit? Just looking for ideas. How do you return the fuel? Is that accomplished through the original top where the fuel feeds from?
Thanks in advance.

Cool... I thought so. I am trying to figure out were the drop in walbro 255lph is gonna be not enough and have to go to an external setup. I guess sumping is the way to do it.
I think I saw it calculated out on a nissan site, walbro 255lph HP could do 600whp or something. I would guess the other deal with the sump is the option to use a better pump (like the bosch) for more reliability, esp when the tank is close to empty.
