umm....WTF?! fosgate 5002 amp problem...
alll the connections are fine and in place. the fuses are not blown(the wire the fuse inside still looks like _/\_) and the amp wont turn on.... ummm.....wtf is going on? could it be a possible blown amp? please help..... i dont even blast the thing...... gain is 3/4 and bass remote controller at less than 1/4. its been like a week or so in the car. could it be that theres not enough power coming from the battery?
500 watt amp
500 watt capable 8 gauge wire, is that fine? thanks HT

Did you actually verify continuity of the fuse with a meter or does it just "look" good?
Where is it grounded? Have you verified (with a meter or test light) that there's 12v at the + terminal on the amp and at the Remote terminal?

Check it like this first.
And yes a very low battery will prevent it from turning on. If you can start your car then your battery has enough power to turn the amp on.

its been working fine for a week or so.... the car is able to start..... i have not touched any of the wires since the install. it just stopped working. it was actually working fine yesterday. do you think something inside could have blown? my gain is at 3/4.... the +terminal is where the power wire is right? and i should check this on the amp itself? (just trying to clarify)

Does not matter if the fuse filament is in one piece or not. It could have blown at the cap on one of the ends, which sometimes can't be seen. Get a meter and actually check the fuse for continuity. Or, just replace the fuse and see if it makes a difference if you don't have access to a meter.

okay i will get 2 30 amp fuses, but theoretically, (about the ground) if it was not grounded properly, the amp would not be working at all right? because if so, i think that would take care of your ground wire concern......i hope....

Not true. In some cases, and amp can ground through the RCA's and although it may not work 100%, it'll turn on.

okay lets say there is no power coming from the remote turn on lead..... what am i supposed to do? i know theres power coming from the power wire because it sparked when accidently touching the ground wire
crap....
crap....

sure did
everything is intact (turn on lead is in)..... the head unit is working..... the speakers work fine..... amp still isnt turning on

so you're not even getting the little power light on the amp? it has to be either the batt cable, the ground, or the remote. check all three again. hell, maybe one of your butt connectors is loose. i always say check the stupidest possible explanation first. not the simplest, but the stupidest.
Check if you are getting 12v on the power wire and on the remote lead at the amp. Do it with a multimeter (or light bulb) instead of shorting it to ground. If there is no power on the power wire, replace the fuse. If there is no power on the remote wire, connect a short piece of wire from power going to the amp to the remote terminal on the amp. If the amp turns on, you have a problem with the remote wire. If it doesn't, then you have an amp problem.

okay let me make this clear for me to understand.
1. take out power wire
2. take only SOME of the small wires/threads from power wire (like 18 guage amount)
3. stick those in the remote turn on lead
4. if amp is on.... GOOD
5. if amp is not working.... im fucked.....

okay i see what your saying. so i can just take extra speaker wire and tear off the ends and test it that way..... ill telll you the results....
