how to remove shift lever? pics
hey guys, i just ordered a short shift adapter and id also like to get the shift lever cut down while im at it. i cant just cut the top off and rethread the lever, because the threads are wider than the lever, so im going to have to get it cut below the threads and get it welded back together.
i thought it would be a piece of cake to remove the lever, but im looking at it now and i dont know what im doing.
how do i go about removing the shift lever entirely from its housing? here are pics of it, maybe one of you guys could describe what i have to do. thanks

i think there's a way to pop it out, but u risk crackign that plastic. best thing to do is remove the entire shifter assembly, and just cut and weld it out of the car. make sure to wrap the base with something fireproof so you dont burn up the base from the welding sparks
