Default ek swap alternator + dizzy question

ok, so i'm swapping an obd1 b16a3 into my 97 EX this weekend and i've read that i'm going to need an obd2 b series alternator. well i've checked advance auto and autozone's websites and the d series alternator (that i just happened to have bought recently) has the same part number as the one listed for the 99-00 si. does that mean i can just use the alternator i just bought???? oh, same thing goes for the dizzy... are the ones they sell universal or something?

Its possible that they use the same alternators, but that wont be the case with the distributors.
I would call honda and double check those alternator part #s.

Are you running the motor obd1 or obd2? (what ecu are you using?)
