I think that is so stupid to shave your handles. Good luck when your battery dies and they wont pop. Besides that it looks ******* horrible. Thats not our taste in here. You may want to register with a different forum. BTW put on your flame suit

dont generalize....every one has their OPINION and its just that. Its not right or wrong he came in here for tech and nothing else. So if you dont have any advice to give him then your better off just keeping to yourself.

To each its own and props for doing your own work

ive heard of someone who had shaved doors and instead of having popers his car was somehow set up so you could hit something under the car and it would open the door, i dont know if this was set up with poppers or not or how it was set up, i was just told thats how it was set up, of course this would suck if other people figured out this could be done, but as long as you have an alarm system i would assume it would work well, wouldn't matter if the battery died since it probably would be hooked up to the battery. just a suggestion/cool idea, this was done on a newer gold. dont know anything about the set up maybe someone else does

Put the poppers as close to the center of the door, near where the latch is. Make sure you get a popper with enough weight capacity. Also if you battery/remote dies you can have an backup button to pop your doors manually.

Honestly you will have to get in there and just see what fits best, I had to shave my door panel in order to make them pop all the way.

My car

Many of the 'nicer' kits come w/ a back-up as an option in case your battery does die. Also, many of the nicer alarm systems come w/ a back-up as an option also... running the solenoids to your alarm system is another way to avoid being locked-out.

Don't let the haters bother you, around here if it's not oem or jdm, many of them just go bananas. And for all the sheep out there: shaved handles are not 'rice'. Shaved handles have been around for how long? This has been a hot-rod favorite for years and years and years... Smooth body panels = smooth to the eye
