Default Rear of hood lifted up? What's the point?

I always thought people lifted the ends of their hoods for engine fitment issues, but now I'm begining to think its for style.... am I just too old, and and out of the loop?

Its suppose to add air into the engine bay. Imo i would never do this cuz if you get into a car accident your head could be sliced off since the hood goes through glass like cake.

it's supposed to add air into the engine bay, by letting it escape easier out the back?

Hrm...

Old school cowl induction trick, as you're idling, hot air is let out from the opening created at the base of the winshield. As you start driving, air either goes through the front and exits the rear or it gets sucked in from that opening, one of those, I can't remember exactly.

Add air? Try heat extraction.

Yeah I heard it's a cooling thing. I would never do this for looks because it makes you car look like the hood doesn't fit.

I like it. If you don't think it works just go drive your car for a while and put your hand behind your hood. **** tons of hot air comes out. heat rises. I also happen to think it looks good.
