I'd go with the basic I/H/E and then move onto the motor.

I'd bore out the motor to get some extra displacement and up the compression. Maybe .02 overbore and 12:1 compression. Then get a cam. Daily driver maybe a ZEX 59300, or full-out racecar 59500 (I think).

Then get a system like Hondata and have it tuned.

I never built a All-Motor setup, but I figure that's about what you'd have to do (plus maybe headwork) to get a D series into the 14s.

I know I'm not going to be the last to say this, and this is completely up to you, but if you want to make real power considerably cheap you could go turbo, SC, or nitrous. I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other, just saying what is enevetibly going to be said.

I'll say it. For how much money you will spend to get an NA D series into the 14s you could have that same D series turbo into the 13s.

Ditto. About 1200 deep and running 13.7s. (Well, I was 1200 deep. New clutch because I burned the other one out, along with the need for more power has caused me to start spending more. )

If you are worried about 1/4 mile times than why dont you start with a h motor. when you say 13s and then you say alot of work it just makes me think, what a waste of time. If i was to spend a couple grand on head build up and then itbs all that, why do it with a d series, i dont know sorry if i pissed anyone off, im just not a drag guy. I dont know everytime i hear someone worrying about 14 second 1/4 mile times i just think of one of those horses with the blinders on. I better stop now im starting to preach. go get em.

-Cast log manifold- Unknown brand.
-TD04 14G turbo- Don't know what it came off of. Had a T3 flange welded on.
-310cc DSM Injectors
-6" JRC Intercooler
-Autozone/Pepboys exhaust piping makes my charge piping
-NAPA couplers and clamps
-PLX M300 Wideband (Great Investment)
-Self-chipped P28 using moates.net chipset & burner
-Currently running an Uber basemap, but switching to Crome today
-Autozone/Pepboys exhaust piping for downpipe, with a flexpipe bought from the local tuner shop

Those are the basics. I have a boost guage and blow off valve, but they're not important.

The setup isn't pretty, but it works. It's fairly quick compared to the majority of the cars in my area.
