Default heater question

ok my climate control **** is broken...the cable is frozen so i disconnected it so i can just manally adjust it under the hood myself. i bought the car like that..and i left it on hot....so recently its been hot around here so i manually adjusted it back to cold like before and switched it back...now that its getting cold again i went to switch it back but no heat...not even warm..just cool....i had the car all warmed up and stuff too? is the heater core not opening or wat? any help would be good

first thing first i know i should fix the cable...so yea

Your heatercore does not open or close, but it could be a bad heater valve. Make sure you are getting water to flow through the valve and out of the heatercore, both inlet and outlet hoses should feel warm.
Good luck and I hope this helps

There's two cables, air cable and heater cable. I believe the cable inside the car controls the cool air vent flap. When the heat is on, the heater valve cable opens the valve and the cool air vent cable closes the flap simultaneously. When you want cool air, it's the opposite.

while we are on this subject I cant seem why my heater dont get as hot...can it be a stuck open vent, if so how do i check that cause water going in and out is hot and no water leaks so I know heater core still good

ok...for mine..near the firewall there is a little valve that closes and open i believe to the heater core. its a cable connected to the climate control. i disconnected on eof the hoses that valve and coolant came pouring out.

under the dash, center console there is anotehr cable thing that i believe opens or closes the cool air vent duct. so yea...mine was the cool air vent duct and it wasn't closing so the air was not hot
