Default Vibration when accelerating.

Hello Guys , I posted also on the Tech/Misc section maybe some people that hang out there could help me out too

I have a boosted ITR running only 10psi on a built B18C TypeR engine.

Today I was at the local drag strip just to make a few passes with out the lights (Test Day) and when I was driving and reached the 1/8th of a mile ( half way down the 1/4 mile track ) The steering wheel picked up a very harsh vibration that you could feel from all the car , and when I say this I mean that the whole car shakes !!

When I was driving back to enter the pits I noticed that the vibration was only at speeds over 40mph and when accelerating only !! And I couldn`t hear NO strange noises coming from the drivetrain What had happened ???

I removed the front wheels at both sides and I couldn`t see anything wrong !!

As for drivetrain I am running:

Stock 98 Spec JDM ITR transmission with stock 4.785 Final drive and stock LSD
ACT ProLight flywheel
ACT XTSS clutch kit
Drive Shaft Shop Stage5 axles
LakeWood Traction Bars
ENJO motor mounts

What happened ???

Did something from the Transmission went wrong and causing vibration !? Because I don`t think that I broke a Stage 5 drive shaft shop axles with only 10 psi and running street tires !!

Please help me because I am stumped where to start

Thanks in advance guys for your help.
Marlon.

my first logicated guess would have to be from inside the tranny, something to do with your 2nd or 3rd gear maybe.

the vibration is only after 40mph, does it mater which gear it's in? is it constant after you go past 40 mph??

It could be your upper control arm

Thanks guys for your replys

The vibrtation could be felt under all gears once you reach speed of somewhere in the 40mph range .

Also the vibration started after I was doing a pass at the 1/4 mile track , so something had failed under hard acceleration on 1st - 2nd gear

It could possibly be inner cv joints starting to go bad. hard to tell which one
is causing it, would have to do trial and error.

Hi guys,
I'm the one who works Marlon's car.Now I've just took out the rh driveshaft and found that the inner cv has one of those bearings totally broken.
What can cause this?
This car has the Dss stage 5 axles and it's never been with slick tyre.

Thanks for your help guys

It just happens. I did the same thing at track and found the same thing on both axles.

Hello Guys and thanks again for your replys !!

I don`t know how a set of Drive shaft shop axles stage 5 that are rated till 800HP could brake with a built B18C running 10psi only

what do you guys reccomend for me to do because I spent huge money for these axles and now I ended up with a broken one

u can send the axles back to driveshaft shop and then they will send you some new ones. my boy was having the same problem with the same axles (619 hp gsr) and he has had to send them back 5 times already ill ask him what he is running now and get back to you

Dss axles suck, I have had more problems with them on customer cars than I want to remember. I refuse to use them anymore
