Default stupid question

will copper spraying my hg lower my compression?
the reason i ask this is cuz people say to apply it generously on each side...im removing a layer of my hg to get to the right CR for these cams and i wanna get every lil bit of compression out of it.
if the head has been freshly resurfaced is there even a need to copper spray the hg?

some people swear by the copper spray, some people think it's crap.

i personally don't see a need for it if the head surface and block deck are both straight and everything is torqued down properly.

couldn't tell you about the compression though - if it is sprayed liberally enough, it could increase the thickness.

I wouldnt use it. Remove a layer, make sure everything is to spec and put it together. You should have no problems.

Top and bottom. I don't quite remember why, though. I'll get back to you on that
