Default Walbro 190 too much??

Okay, forgive me if I sound like I know nothing, but it's probably true. which is why I'm here to learn. My searches have gotten me more and more confused.

I've been in search of getting better gas mileage, I'm only getting barely 23mpg, 50/50 local/freeway. And it dawned on me that my fuel pressure is pretty high, at around 55-ish at idle, vac hose on. I'll check what it is with the vac hose off when I get off work. Is my walbro 190 fuel pump doing me more bad than good? I have a very very mild setup, you can see what it is in the link on my sig, and yes I have been tuned. Keep in mind that I am running the walbro 190 with stock fpr and stock injectors.

So let's say the 190 is giving me ill effects, I can't just switch to a stock fuel pump without getting my car re-tuned right? The whole reason I switched to the 190 was that my friend pretty much gave it to me, and I figured it would probably be better than my civic hx fuel pump.

it was my impression that the fuel pump doesnt effect the psi but just flows faster and the fuel pressure regulator so be controling the psi/pressure.... so in other words if you have a stock fpr then you "should" have stock fuel pressure.

Could it be somthing to do with your fpr not working correctly?

yeah...i've heard both sides of the story. some say the fuel pump affects fuel pressure, some say it doesn't.

definately could be a possiblility tho. I guess the big question is does my fuel pressure even need to be that high for my setup?

48 psi at idle.....and 58 psi with the hose off and pinched.

is it possible to have this high of a fuel pressure on a stock fpr?
