short shifter

Default short shifter

i got this short shiter for my 91 crx and i was jus wondering if i had to go under the car and disconnect the shift inkage from the shfiter to get it in or can i do it from inside the car if anyone has done this in there car can i get some guick advice.

You go down now. But, seriously yes you have to go under the car. There are two 10mm bolts that you have to take off to drop the shifter out. When you do this regrease everything good this will give you a good feel from the shifter.

It is pretty easy should take you about 30min 1hr at most.

One gottcha the linkage rod has a 1/2" steel stock at the end of it. Check it for clearance on your exhaust. It took me 15min to cut it off with a hacksaw.

The reason you will have clearance problems is the new shifter drop's the linkage down about an inch.

oh im sorry common sense would tell you that you have to go under the car to disconnect the hifter to the linkage.

He's probably just never looked at the shifter/linkage connection. (I'm assuming) Looking at it would easily answer your question.

since you are going to be under the car unbolting stuff and whatnot, i recomend replacing your shift bushings with energy shift stabalizers, they work wonders and if you already havent replaced the old worn out oem bushings this is the best time to do so, they arent that much and make alot of a difference
