I used the wiper plug from a 92-95 Civic CX. Just need a little ingenuity to make it work.

I just got a whole hatch off of an HF. Rear wipers are always the first things I rmove from my cars. Make sure you remove the colum stalk, and replace with a non-wiper equipped one too. You don't have to, but I prefure to, so I don't have non working stuff in my car.

I used black electrical tape on the bottom side of the hatch. Its been there for over a year now. No leaks at all. Another solution is to weld a patch over it.

I dunno their reasons, but my reasons, are:
1. Weight
2. They are ugly
3. They don't really do much anyway
4. On my CRX I have no wipers, heat, A/C anything. My beater does have heat, and a front wiper though.
