just bought 91 accord for gas mileage. but 22mpg?
ok i just bought a 1991 accord ex 5 speed 4 door, i bought it to get better gas mileage, and to be my daily driver.... ive measured last few times i went to the gas station i was only getting 22mpg...... whats everyone else getting, and what are somethings to get it a lil higher? just changed plugs n wires, no change
ps it has 205k

along with the fuel filter check and replace the air filter, and when was the last time it had a tune-up? putting in some new spark plugs, plug wires, and dist. cap and rotor wouldnt hurt. and make sure your alignment is good. try to keep it under 3k rpm, be easy on the gas. keep your windows rolled up on the freeway. and try some fuel system cleaner, i used some chevron techron and it bumped my MPG from 20 to about 23...i got a 95 lx 4cyl, im getting shitty low 20's mpg because i have really bad alignment, but the techron fuel system cleaner worked great.
he did say he replaced plugs n wires. Alignment kills your gas mileage? I know low tire pressure will, but alignment? I might have to research on that. I truly never heard of that yet.

You haven't mentioned what kind of driving you do. Is it city or highway? Get a complete tune-up and service check-up. Do what you can yourself. That way you can see what the old condition was. Like changing the filters, air and gas.
I have a '90 4 cyl, and I get 24 mpg with suburb driving with part hwy commute.

get a full tune up, put a little more pressure in the tires as well.
my tune up:
new spark plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor, fuel filter, k&n filter, valve adjustment, seafoam treatment
tire pressure: 35 psi (honda recommends something like 30 for the cb7)
and of course get an alignment.
i get 30 - 35 mpg with a combo of city and highway driving, and i drive to run over grandma
