Default Valve Timing

Need Help in Valve Timing Doing a Mini Me swap need help in timing the valves of A d16y8

if it is anything like my y7 and believe it is..... then you need to set the timing belt drive pully at TDC (there is a groove on the pully and a mark on the oil pump align those). Then set the camshaft pully to TDC ( there is 2 marks on the camshaft pully, you need to set them to the surface on the block. There is an "up" on the camshaft pully make sure it is facing up) Then install the timing belt in this order 1 - crankshaft 2 - adjustable pully 3 - water pump 4 - and 5 - camshaft pully. Tighten every thing down (if crankshaft pully on off tighten it down). Then rotate the crankshaft pully counterclockwise 5 or 6 times and check tension again. Then check that both the crankshaft pully and the camshaft pully are both TDC at the same time. (note: there is a white mark on the Crankshaft pulley for TDC)
