Default tranny fluid change...

Hey, i mean i havent noticed much about my tranny being bad, but i wanna make sure it doesnt get bad, so im gonna do a tranny fluid change, i heard someone talking about ATF-Z1 tranny fluid that u can only get at a honda dealer, my q is can i use something else thats good? or do i need that? Thanks as always.

the ATF-Z1 is probably the most recommended. But if you pay a visit to an auto store or elsewhere and read their tranny fluid labels, you will find out whether something else would work for you or not.
As an example, brake fluid doesn't have to be specifically from a honda place, but your power steering fluid, needs to be "meant for hondas only"... other power steering fluids do not meet honda's specs.

I think in manual transmission its just a blend between two oils. Like 10w30 and 5w20 (just an example). I'm not sure what it is. For auto I would read the labels or call a dealer and ask what do they recommend.
