How do Honda bikes ride vs. others?
I've been hearing a lot of controversy saying that the Honda bikes ride like complete crap. Is this true? I have a friend who has a CBR and he said that he hates it, he rode his friends GSXR and said it was such a better feeling/better riding bike. What are your guys' personal experiences with this?
that's your friend's opinion.
Read some magazines and you'll see that there's nothing terribly wrong with any modern sport bike.
Honda's have notoriously uncomfortable seats. Other than that, the 600rr is one of the best feeling bikes i've ever ridden, and i love my F4i for it's comfort and streetability.

Too many factors affect handling - incorrect tire pressure, improperly set up suspension, and most of all, rider error.
If your friend is having trouble with his CBR's handling, it's very likely that he's the one with the issues.

I was reading the newest Motorcyclist today...
Almost all the middleweight Jap 600's are the just about the exact same. All within like 6 lbs of eachother, a TENTH of a second quarter mile, etc.
Your friend's opinion is pretty ignorant, go out and find what you like best.

your friend probably don't know how to ride. Honda cbr's handle great, much better than suzuki's. Out of the 4 main ones, Honda, Yamaha,, Suzuki and Kawasaki, in my opinion Suzuki is the worst in handling. And i've ridden on all of them, 600rr, 636, r6, gsxr 600 and the gsxr600 was the worst in handling. The 06 models on the other hand, they are all pretty much the same in handling and performance wise.

Honestly, all the new bikes are so similar in actually performance, it would take a very skilled rider to make a very noticable difference. So unless you're racing its not going to be very critical what bike you have. When deciding a new bike it could really come down to what you think looks better, which bike has more toys and goodies, or which bike feels most comfortable.

Most people don't care how a bike feels....
as they are hanging off the seat on either side most of the time anyways.
(fyi...i would not be included in that category^ )

My only complaint is the seat so i changed that out to a CORBIN seat which is one of the best things ever. Its a little wide on the inner thigh but thats all.

Ok...so besides your friend's uneducated opinion, what have you "heard"?
You say you've heard a lot of controversy, care to share what was said and by who? I hope you don't mean 5 of your friends say they ride like crap...because thats far from "controversy" or "a lot."
Just curious if you've really heard legitimate claims or if you're friend's sole statement is what you're basing this crap on?

I've mainly talked with people that live around here and have owned or currently own hondas and other bikes. A few of them said that they were great all around and they feel great, but others have said that they ride like crap. I think they were probably referring to the seats though.

I rode a CBR with the plank seat and it wasn't so bad.
Honda bikes have a definite feel to them, just like Honda cars. They feel more organic, more reliable, smoother, less twitchy. If you totally de-badged a Honda and took off any distinguishing marks, I'd probably be able to tell it was a Honda just by sitting on it and maybe riding it for a few minutes. They are really distinctive. Maybe that's why they cost more?
