Default Black Out Headlights

I'm in the process of fixing damage to my accord (no idea how it happened) and figured I'd give the whole DIY black out headlights a go, now I have the actual piece up and out of the car and the black mounting bracket, taken off the metal clips, and undone everything there is to undo. I've read and been told to stick the sucker in the oven to heat up the glue that holds the glass with the plastic/reflective part, but haven't seen any real details on it. Would it be easier to use a heat gun and slowly pry it apart, or does someone who's done it have a suggestion as to what to heat my oven to and about how long it should stay in there? I don't want to put it in, melt the plastic and then be out of my headlights

heat gun works good too. what I've done in the past is to preheat the oven to 200*F, put the headlight(s) in there for 5-6 minutes, and then pry apart using a heat gun to heat up any stubborn parts.

Or you can stick it back in the oven for another minute or so and try again

i tried doing this before. i put the clear corners on a foil and it melted the sh*t out of the plastic, so i bought new corners. what do you guys use to place the lights on when it is in the oven? oh yea and when i try to pry it open, it jus made a crack down the middle of my corners...what did i do wrong?

hmm lx, that's exactly what I did, I put a sheet of tin foil down on the oven grate, heated it up to 200o on Bake setting and set it in there for 5-6 minutes and pulled it out and took a flat head screwdriver and slowly pried, I had 0 melting issues while it was in the oven, what heat did you use and was there any moisture?

And thanks Andryzzle! That's exactly what I want, looks like I'll order some Depo's asap I had another question regarding your grill, is that like a JDM or EDM market grill or a DIY (paint the chrome mount the rear tag on a piece of it) because I love how that looks as well an my current one is fading

first i used a wetted cardboard, put it in the oven and placed the corner on top of the board. i let it sit in there for 7 minutes and the glue wasn't melting off. so i tried using tin foil for another 3 minutes and it melted my plastic, but once i triedd to pry it open anyways, it cracked my corner...
