use car alarm to activate kill switch?
first as a disclaimer I know nothing about alarms and electronics...I can wire up just about anything with instructions, then again it's all on the instructions.
I just bought a a new civic, just got a cheapo alarm installed, keyless entry, shock/door sensor really just the basics. So I am exploring further about a kill switch option. I've read up on that post up top for the fuel pump kill switch done through an actual switch.
I'm wondering if there is a way to do the same thing but automatically through some sort of alarm activation? So some considerations and please correct me if i'm completely off..also I have searched.
1.) hooked through the siren?, as in when the siren receives the signal to alarm then the switch engages, problem I see is accidental tripping of the alarm, then how do I toggle it back on?
2.) hooked through door lock and unlock? when I lock it activates, when I unlock it disengages just like arming the alarm, I would run it from the alarm or wherever so when I simply use my automatic door locks it doesn't activate?
Is this feasable or is the simple on/off switch still the best solution?

What kind of alarm is it? Even the most basic alarms have an output to activate a starter/ignition kill. Whether the installer hooked it up or not is the question. If its there the usually the wire is orange in color about 16 gauge and easy to test with multimeter or test light. When the alarm is armed it will show a ground signal output and when disarmed it won't show anything at all. Let me know either way and I can send you a diagram on how to wire in a starter/ignition kill relay.
as I said i'm not really up on my electronics so I don't have a multimeter but tomorrow i'll definitely check for a 16 gauge orange wire.
please send me any info or a diagram, it would be much appreciated.

Let me know if you find that orange wire or not and also tell me what year your civic is, if it's standard or auto, and what model alarm you have. I'll make you up a diagram with all wire colors and info to do the starter kill after I get that information.
