Default oil between block and trans, cant pinpoint the leak please help

so ive been having some oil show up inbetween the block and trans for a while now.

found a leaky distributor o-ring - replaced. oil shows up again, thought it was still dripping from up top so i replaced the vtec solenoid gasket. still the oil shows up. i look underneath and find oil dripping near the rear main so i figure oil is leaking and getting slung around inside the clutch housing which is seeping out at the joint. im going thru the steps to drop the trans and once the flywheel cover is off, i find that is is dry as hell! where is this oil coming from? its got me stumped.

could it somehow still be my rear main causing this? i think my oil pan is leaking too but why the oil between the block and trans? any ideas would be great, TIA.

That spot is pretty common and usually resulting from a leaking VTEC solenoid, Cam seal, or Dizzy seal.

Mine is doing the same thing at the moment, and I had my dizzy out earlier today and didn't even thing to change the seal lol.

thanks for the suggestions. valve cover gasket is dry. dizzy, vtec solenoid also dry and replaced. im wondering if the pooling oil on the pan is just from a leaky pan seal and the oil between block and trans is just left over wetness from oil leaks from the dizzy or vtec solenoid that ive fixed. maybe i'll leave the trans on cause i'm afraid i'll find a dry rear main.. any other opinions?

Just clean it and keep track of it. Might be left over residue

Could be left over. If you look at the top of your block next to the tranny, base of the head where the tiny peice of headgasket is showing, do you have a little puddle there or not?

used to have puddles there but haven't had any since i replaced the vtec gasket and dizzy o-ring. im hoping its just left over residue. im sure the pan was leaking, dropped it and the gasket was hard as a rock, took 45 min to scrape it off
