Default After car sits for a few hours engine won't start right up

I have an 89 crx hf... Once the car has been sitting for a few hours or more it won't start right up... I turn the key and it cranks for about 5 seconds and then it will start. I'm assuming this problem is fuel related... Somehow it's losing fuel pressure, I'm just wondering how to further diagnose it.... I wouldn't even worry about this problem except I'm moving to Canada in a month and I'm getting a remote start so that come winter I can warm up my car in the mornings... Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Zack

would the main relay cause a problem like that??? I assumed the problem would be fuel pressure related... but maybe the main relay is something I need to look into.

Just prime the fuel pump like 4 times, then crank it. That's what I do...

I agree , I have the same issue , turn your key to acc. without starting the car then turn it off , do this again and the third time go ahead and fire it up , I need to swap out the fuel pressure regulator .

so is it a fpr that I need to replace??? I already knew how to get the car started... I want to put a remote start on the car... cold winters when I go to Canada... I know it might seem wierd to be looking this far ahead, but I'm leaving in a month and won't likely have tools or a place to work on my car once I get there... so yeah... like I said earlier... is it the fpr that I need to replace, or is there some better way for me to diagnose this problem so I can actually fix it

Are you using an aftermarket fuel pressure reg? I'd check your fpr and fuel rail lines and make sure they're tight. If so then you might be loosing pressure in the rear, not necessarily in the engine bay. I had this same problem because it turned out I had a small leak in the fuel line that comes directly out of the gas tank. Just a little rust can cause this or the soft lines can just dry out and crack. The line you'd be looking for is right in front of the gas tank, in between it and the rear d/s wheel. It's a hard line but really thin metal that isn't hard to be eaten through or cracked. Hope that helps.

replace the injector o-rings if you havent yet. That's exactly how I fixed mine when it happened to me...change the fuel filter too, since you're in there.
