CRX HF brake upgrade?
Hey guys well im a newbie and i just got a b16 swap in my crx hf and i wanted some better brake power. I just wanted to know what would be the best route for better braking. Ive heard of converting rear drum to si disc brake but what about those tiny calipers in the front? I was thinking about just going for a bigger caliper in the front and leaving the rear with drum. I might have a way to find some nsx calipers since i own an nsx and i was wondering what would i need to maybe do a nsx brake conversion or any other brake upgrades. What parts would i need to do this and how hard would it be? any suggestions? thanks for the help
here you go https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1171175 nsx calipers are the same as ITR, Legend, Prelude VTEC but they are lighter and say nsx on them so that makes them pimp
The 90-93 integra rear disc brakes bolt-on. You will need to get a 4040 proportioning valve. It wouldn't be a bad idea at all to ditch your stock master cylinder and brake booster for the integras also. It will supply enough brake fluid to the rear brakes to give you very good stoppping power without having to run from junkyard to junkyard trying to find parts from 30 different cars... You can use either CRX SI brake lines, or you can use integra's but they are a little long.

These are not the same, yes you can get them all to fit, but they are different. NSX and Legend GS calipers are twin pistion whereas the others are single piston. NSX has cooling fins and Legend GS calipers have larger pistions.
These are all good brake upgrades, stay OEM, I'm still not happy with my fastbrakes kit and thinking of selling it.

Man that is overkill, you will be fine with CRX Si brakes, even with your rear drums. There are a lot of guys who race EFs and CRXs with the stock brakes, and a lot of them even swap rear discs to rear drum, the stock brakes are enough for the car.
I think a common misconception is that since you have a bigger/faster motor, you need better brakes. Regardless of how fast you get to say, 60mph, you are still stopping a 2100 pound car from 60mph, so the brakes aren't related to the motor. And before you say the B series weighs more, it doesn't weigh more than a passenger, so would you use different brakes because you are planning on carrying someone with you?
You can get a set of Si knuckles/hubs with the calipers in a yard for under $100, and they will bolt up under stock wheels.

I have heard this from the MOST respectable and knowledgable Racers, enough to the point I'm selling my Rear Disc Conversion.
I dont mean to thread jack, but I've got a set of SI hubs and a set of Rear Discs of a Del Sol I believe.....IDK, but they bolt right up................if you wanna buy em, I'll sell em to ya
they come with X-drilled and sloted rotors aswell.
