Default import face off @ KCIR may 21

Who all is planning on running the May 21st import face off? We should have 2 cars there. Lets see if an import can take the entire event.

Why are they wanting 16 cars for a full payout?

That's normal, i've been victim of the $350 payout cause there wasn't a full field.

it's not IFO this weekend at KCIR, it's Street Battle, an import vs domestic event. http://www.STreetbattle.net All the imports (FWD, RWD, etc) are in one class, so a quick 16 not 8 like IFO, but RWD is limited to dot approved and the payout is down to semis. Winner of the Import Q16 races the Domestic Q16 winner for a bonus $400. Only costs $25 to enter the race.

I would assume IFO handles the car show, street battles does the race part of things.

The entire event is Street Battle. It is only posted with the IFO schedule because the event is hosted by the same company that does IFO. All the event info for Street Battle is on http://www.StreetBattle.net, not ImportFaceOff.com

The schedule on http://www.KCIR.net is wrong. They have Import Face-Off listed even though that event is not until September 3.

This event is basically like IFO only there is no all motor class and rwd/fwd vehicles are all put together in one big class (Import Quick 16). Then, the import winner races the domestic winner at the end for an import vs domestic finale.

yes there will be more than one race this year in KC, like allways there will be 2 or 3 total, 2 for sure, 1 on the drawing boards.

tony and scott going to be a fun event for sure to see where everyone is at this year.

there will be handfulls of 10-12 second boosted civ's there so it should be a full and competitive field from the looks of it.

Yes, Import Face-Off will be on September 3rd at KCIR. Classes will be FWD Quick 8, Street Quick 8, All Motor Quick 4, and three bracket classes.

Just so everyone knows... our webmaster has gone missing. I don't know if he dead, in jail, or what, but the IFO site can't be updated because he's the only one with the login information. We couldn't wait for him any more, so had to create an entire new site. For now on, check http://www.ImportFaceOff.NET , not .com for updates.

I am posting semi final results from a phone.

I thibk turbo sol and his brother ran 10.3 and 10.5 and were 1 2 qualifiers after the rest of the field broke.

scott at import power house ran an impressive 9.9 @ 145. but dropped a valve in quifying.

domestics had a couple 10.1 second cars but I didn't get to stay to see how that went down.

felix at kc trends car had transmission problems and broke on first qualifier.

seems like a lot of local racers cars weren't finished in time to compete in the event.

It was a fun Event. I got first and my brother got second, We were with in a .1 of a second. I bogged reall bad off the line in the domestic final.

This will be the last race that I run hosted by Import face off or street battle. Acording to the rules there must be 16 entries to get full pay and we had 16 entries but since one of the cars broke a tranny at the line in qaulifying they didnt count the run and only considered there 15 cars our pay outs were cut in half. that blamed the problem on low turn outs so they already lost money.

GSRcaucAZN78-
Here is word for word what you wrote above about pay outs.

IMPORT HEADS UP QUICK 16 - payout = 1st $600, R/U $200, Semi 1 $100, Semi 2 $100
Heads-Up, Pro-tree (.400) class for FWD, RWD, or AWD import or domestic sport compact unibody chassis vehicles with functional doors. Tube chassis prohibited. Any 4, 5, or 6 cylinder, 2 or 3 rotor engine allowed. No air-cooled engines permitted. Slicks allowed for FWD vehicles only. No restriction on power adder type or combination thereof. Open exhaust, wheelie bars and one piece front ends allowed. Must have 16 entries for full payout. Less than 16 cars will receive half the normal payout

I beleive there were 16 entries.
