anyone?and if i plug my stock iacv up and just have the y8 iacv on the back but no plugged up.
yes will work done it plenty of times, on y8, z6, b7 what ever IM you use if you have a 96 up d16y7 then you'll have to use the y7 TB. Unless you do obd1 convertion then you won't need to use the y7 TB. hope this helps

just did this exact thing a couple of weeks ago. assuming you are putting a y8 mani on your y7 engine: i had to use a y8 throttle cable, two y8 throttle cable brackets, and i cant remember exactly what it was i did, but i think i used the thing that the throttle cable hooks up to from the y8 throttle body....and as far as the iacv. you can either take the y8 iacv out and jb weld the hole, then put it back in, or you can cut out a piece of aluminum (or whatever) and size it to cover up the hole where the y8 iacv was...that way you dont destroy the y8 iacv.

really man, its way too hard to get a picture that will help you...you kind of just have to look back and forth at them and logically think it through...thats what i ended up doing...it will make sense after some thought

i have my y7 TB on the y8 manifold.
on the bottom of the TB.. 2 nipples.. for coolant. which goes where?
and the nipple in the middle to the 3rd runnin sits on the y8 flange for coolant?
and the ones coming off the top of the IM..2 nipples

IM LOSTTTTTTTTT

On the y8 manifold there is a small nipple on the bottom right of it on the driver side. Is that covered?

yea its blocked off
on my manifold.. the y8 it has a nipple going straight up in the middle of the runners on the flange, my frend didnt have it onhis 97 ex? weird.. since i have the y7 l TB..the 2 nipples on the bottom are coolant..the one on the outside is hooked to the coolant runnn off the flange..and the other one ihave ran under the manifold..its right? anything else?

i’m going on day 4 of trying to get this setup to work and i can’t get it to start…. acting like it’s starving for air or fuel one of the 2
only twist is i’m using a d15b block but it already had the y7 head y7 tb and y7 intake manifold and ran great just not the type of throttle response i wanted. anyway i can’t get it to start or idle…. it tries to idle…. any help??

Just thought I would circle back on this…. I got it
going and running somewhat decent but my
idle was and is at times a little wonky. I connected the coolant hose and pcv hose to the wrong places…. (you should have seen how many failed attempts i had at locating all these hoses) I fixed that and realized not long after that I did something really not smart and I didn’t leave a hole in the homemade gasket I made for the large coolant entrance to the head. I drove for about half a block and I got a lot of white smoke and it smelled like burning gasket mixed with coolant. Anyway i parked it and changed that out and it was running much better….. thinking I could get it running much more smoothly I swapped from the 2000 civic y8 intake mani that I plugged the holes (Ran smoother with this manifold then what I am using currently) with and was running the vehicle with….. This had a y7 tb which is important because with y8 tb you can not use the y7 head or ecu. Stupid, but you can’t.
Work around for this is to use the y7 tb. No you don’t need to use the y8 throttle cable it’s really
pretty simple to rig the cable to either tb even without swapping rotors. Or what I did was used the y8 tb from an automatic ( setup is either y8 manual with Y7 tb or Y8 automatic with automatic Y8 or either or automatic or manual Y7TB) as it ironically has the same electrical components as the y7 tb.
*Again very important…. without a Y8 or Z6 head you cannot use the Y8 Manual throttle body on this swap (unless the tb is the y8 automatic) without changing your p2e ecu to a p2p, p06, p28 or there’s a few more that will work*
But what seems to make the biggest difference in getting a good idle are these few things…. From my experience anyway and i spent 4 days taking these honda parts apart and configuring them back together in ways that I hoped would work…. Anyway the following made the biggest difference. Use Y7 injectors… The y8 is too much for the y7 brain it seems. Also the IACV and TPS is crucial that they are connected correctly and yes they are both grey in color and both have the same plugs. Also make sure that little nipple on the back of the manifold for cruise control is capped off. One thing I also did which just flooded my fuel rail with fuel was i originally removed the injector filters thinking it would give me more fuel, but it was way too much fuel and it was coming out my tail pipe.
Anyway I had just about every headache you can think of with this conversion and would be happy to help anyone having problems with it.
To clarify I have a D15B JDM block, Y7 head, Y8 automatic intake manifold (the manual one works also, just more steps) and Y8 TB from automatic Y7.
My vehicle is a 5speed Manual 1996 Sedan.
Those of you who have done this swap without some kind of idle issues on the first go….. I don’t believe you lol.
