Default Wheel dimensions/Tire Types for Downhill?

I'm rockin' it on the Austin, TX downhills on stock wheels and tires and REALLY need to get something better. The lack of grip is really starting to scare me at times.

Basically I'm looking for a good diameter/width combo and some suggestions for good rubber to wrap around them.

I drive a '93 'Lude with a import H22 engine, all the footworks are stock right now though.
