Engine swap in 88 crx DX

Which ever one you want. If you look here this may help you. I personally would not do any of them I would get a B18x

first with a dx your going to run into a couple of problems.
1st wire wont match unless you change it
2nd alxes wont fit unless u have ls or si hubs
3rd cables speed, throttle, clutch
4th shift linkage, mounts
but b16a would work the best plus the mileage is low
if you want a b18 i would suggest b18a1 non v-tec from a 90-91 integra a friend of mine has one in his dx hatch and it runs 14.7, it stock execpt for a clutch
its up to you and how much money you have or what deals u can make.
good luck

Don't listen to this guy, DX/Si/EX hubs are the same

You know that B18 can also be a LS motor B18A/B and then you can get a VTEC head for it later and kill a B16. If it were my car, oh wait, I have a DX and this is what I am doing. Rewiring, I have EX hubs, linkage, mounts, LS/VTEC with B16 LSD tranny, staying OBD0, axles and then driving it. However I started with just an LS motor and tranny and ran across the B16 tranny and B16 head.
I picked up the LS engine and tranny for $400 so they are cheap and you can get http://www.AZRaceMachine.com mounts which are super mounts and cheaper than HaSport.

how many swaps have either of you done? i've put 2 b16a in crxs one b18a1 in a dx hatch and now i put a b16 in my si crx tomorrow, and to top it off i putting together my friends ls/vtec which is full built, the hubs for a dx wont fit we tried with my friends dx hatch the axle spline are not big enough we had to switch them out with hub for a 90 integra, and a b16 tranny is the same as a ls, Ys1,J1, and Y1 take your pick the y1 is lsd my b16 has it. ls/vtec is good for power but if not done right you can f@#k your self over. like taking the motor to high of rpms without having done some work to the block. a ls looses power at about 6500 to 6800rpms a b16 does looses power entell 7500 or more depending on what you do to it. but a b16 was made to rev high and ls is more like a d15 or d16 non vtec just 3x the size they were not designed to go to 8000, i not say you should or shouldn't do ls, but if your going ls vtec take your time. GSR would be great if you have the money for one. i 'm not saying i know everything this is just what i think you should do from i have done in the past.

you were working with either STD htachback or crx HF hubs if you had to change them.
dx/si hubs have a higher spline count. all 88-91, year is irrelevant.
you are mistaken.

Yes I second that, I've probally done upwards of 20 engine swaps. doublethink is correct.
