Sac raceway no more?!
I heard that Sac raceway sold their land and new homes are gettin put up. I'm not sure if theirs any truth to it or not, but I figured somebody here can tell us the scoop. Anybody know if its the truth or not?

Famoso is down right now so we have nowhere to really race here in CEN CAL. We need the track to open in Merced that they were talking about.
They are going to make street racing really popular again.

We need to do something... Honestly I just looked at the update from California Speedway and they should be just about finish with the new track. However, we get only 4 dates for Street Legals between July and Dec. Two of them are on the same weekend (July 15-16)
At least Famoso plans on running a full schudule in June and pretty much until late Oct. That would be almost every Friday Night Street Legals.
Driving 90 mins from my house to Famoso isn't the complete answer however. We need to get Brotherhood re-opened.
For those in Sac, you have Infineion still and its not much further away. If you lost Sac, it would still be a year or two or even four before the track actually closed.
I agree, the proposed motorsport complex for Merced needs to go through. There's nothing out there but dusty farmland anyway and nobody lives around it, who's it going to hurt?
We need to all band together somehow to get things moving. This sucks, they are trying to take all our venues for motorsports away from us very slowly.

I was there, happened like 20 feet from me. That was like September of '98 I think. Something about racing some guy for his girlfriend was how it started . . .
NHRA was back there in what '02 I think it was, but had a low turn out. They did try for one this year, but Infenion would not work with them on a date, so that screwed us out of a good one. Oh well, maybe next season.
