mastercyl. brace......yup i made one
i know most dont take me seriously, but believe me when i tell you i made one out of stuff around my engine bay, it looks factory, and works. only one problem, one hole must be drilled at the moment. im looking at ways around this now for those that care .......ill keep you all updated!
when ive completed it for good, ill take pics.

nope.....but i bet the "piece" i used will be there if a bomb went off in the engine bay..the firewall will break off before this thing does

well, as it stands, one hole will need to be drilled for this brace to work, and then tapped for threads.all easily done in a hour or less. looks like it should be there, and seems to function as intended.
i would say more about it, but i want to be the guinnea pig in case something fails. i might try to find one of the local "boyz" with an arrr to see if the setup is the exact same or will need to be modified.

i dont have any way (at the moment ) to take pictures, but take a look at the cast iron upper bracket for your power steering pump. remove this piece.or if your like me, take a spare out of your closet
if you look at this piece, there is an elongated hole for the "pump" to slide up and down on to tension the belt. this will be used as the actual brace for the MC. once you position this correctly, you will notice on the shock tower "chassis unibody" that exactly one 10mm bolt will line up perfectly. put this bolt in slightly! its a bitch to take out later with an open end wrench, trust me.
with this bolt in you will plainly see that another hole must be drilled to hold the rear portion of the "brace". drill this hole, and tap threads. i myself used a 12mm bolt as thats what i had, and i wanted it to be fairly sturdy.
it fit perfectly on my civic, doesnt look "ghetto" and seems to get the job done. Ive removed it since to get some pictures (eventually) and possibly take it to a machine shop to make it look more Bling Bling.
hopefully that helps out.......post questions, ill be happy to help.
-nick, whos sometimes helpfull and serious

What the hell is it with chicks and dirty guys?!? I swear, Bef makes me change oil or do something every weekend
Last time I checked, there was no salvage yard within a 50 mile radius of me that had a DC2.
