You have to unbend the tabs that hold the rack to the console.

which tabs are you talking about? the metal tabs that are holding the slot can't bend any more.

i don't have a digi cam right now, but if you look on the back, each end of the slot is connected to a metal tab. i unscrewed all of the screws i can see, but it still doesn't come out!

I'll probably be trying the same thing this weekend. Bought one on ebay and its supposed to come in tommorrow. If I manage to get it in, I'll let you know how it worked. PM me to remind me though.

You have to remove the center console to access the screw to remove the pocket.

Step one remove shift ****
Step two remove all screws on sides of center console
Step three slide console back and up

At this point you will see the zinc colored screw above the cupholder that hold the pocket in there are 4 screws.

From there its cake. The real bitch is getting the plug routed up to the head unit. My cable seemed a little short

You have to bend back the prongs then it slides out. It happened to my friends hatch. That thing was a bitch in itself The metal pieces were sticking out, that's why it won't slide out.
