Any idea how to fix this? Its an oem cd player in a 98 civic. Just happened all of a sudden. It will eject a cd, but wont take it into the player. Weird

yeah I know, if it says error, either the lasers lens is dirty, or out of focus, or the laser is bad, or the spindle motor is bad. if youve used a lens cleaner cd that couldve messed it up also. I used to work at a repair center for pioneer, kenwood, jvc, sanyo, and denon. and several of these companies, especially pioneer used to have us void warranties for using cleaning discs. they even had a warning in the front of their manuals about not using these discs. the lens for the laser floats between two magnets and is held there by 4 wires that are thinner then your hair, and some of the cleaner discs had really stiff brushes on them and they would beat the lens out of alignment.anyway if you want that one fixed check out http://www.unitedradio.com

its any CD. It wont automatically pull the cd into the deck like normal. Its nothing really to do with the reading of the disk.

When that happened to me, I hit a big pothole really hard and it messed up the lens alignment on the stock cd player. Most of the time, to get the lens re-adjusted is like 120$ which most likely isn't worth it. I figured I'd take it apart anyways and try to mess with it since it was broken. I got lucky when I took it apart, i moved the lens around back and forth and other items that I saw. Put it back together and it seemed to start working fine again. Magical fingers

same kind of question did not know if there would be a different answer for this...
I just got a silver 2000 Honda accord coupe.
It came with the stock cd player also with the stock 6 cd changer, Quite often when changing cds in the cd changer comes back with the error E-01. It sounds like its trying to change cds the first time but then after it displays that error once it quits trying. Although when i turn the car off the cd changer starts to move and usually the next time i turn my car on and try and play off the changer the last cd selected works and does play properly. After that though it is a crap shoot when changing cds sometimes it works and other times it does not... Should i attempt to remove the changer and clean it? Should i remove it and do something else to it? If so a little push in the right direction on how to remove it would be helpful...

Not sure if this is another problem/same problem. On the main part of the cd player in this car there is a single cd player like if there was no cd changer...most often when i put a cd in you can hear the player trying to read the disk, it will do this forever and not play anything so i eject the dist and just leave it. Sometimes it will take disks and play normally some burned some normal... Other times it will play but don't skip the track cause that will make it try and read forever and not get anywhere... Should i pull the cd player out and clean the lens?

Right now i cannot afford to replace any of these so any fixes would be excelent...its like this cd player/changer is a woman and just has major mood swings lol...
please advise
Thanks
Brenton
