When ignition switch goes bad, what usually shorts out?
Ignition switch on '90 Accord went bad.
Detached and re-attached. Worked. But on shut-off, smelled something burning. Heard a light electrical pop. Saw a little smoke. But I quickly pulled off the negative battery cable. I've been looking for the short, but gave up with artificial light. Will try in daylight. Any guesses which wire to check as the most likely? Gimme some guesses, it might save me some time.

My bad question. Sorry.
I think I found my problem, though. It was a coincidence that my alternator had a short circuit.
