Hey guys, I have a 97HB and there prob one in every civic maybe. but why is there a metal support brace under the rear seats. would it be safe and fine to take it out and leave it out? or would that be a bad idea? let me knw cause i think thats **** is atleast 50lb. thanks

 

its far from 50 pounds, try closer to 10-15. You can take it, 96 hatches didnt come with it. Its just there for side impacts. So if you do take it out i hope you dont get hit. But personally i perfer to leave mine in.

 

hahah yea, i was pretty off. what if i get a roll cage. you think its be fine taking it out. or should i still have it in for extra support.?

 

A roll cage doesn't necessarily make you safer.

There was an article in SCC detailing the myths in the car performance world.

 

i think its safer than not having a cage right? wouldn't the cage do the same thing as the support brace?
