Importing a ITR from Canada?
Hi,
There was a thread made about this awhile back now I can't find it. Searched "canada" in type r forum. Does anyone know what's involved when buying a itr from canada? TIA.

I've done it the other way(US to Canada) and it's fairly straight forward. Brokerage fees, taxes, a little wait time and that's about it. Canada to US differs from state to state. Emissions laws are state specific, Cali being more difficult than say, North Dakota
.
There is a thread kickin' around though. Search for "import", "importing", etc.

so when you buy an itr in canada. do you have to pay taxes for both countries?

Same as if you ordered something off the interweb; taxes are charged when you pick it up or when it's delivered.</TD></TR></TABLE>
thanks for help. BTW I found the thread by searching on yahoo. I posted it just in case anyone else needs this info.
