Default Alarm help...proximity sensor, glass sensor, and backup battery/siren???

I am having a Compustar 2W900FM-A alarm installed on my civic this saturday and am debating whether I should add some additional security, specifically a proximity sensor, glass-tampering sensor, and backup battery/siren to the system. I like the idea of adding a backup battery/siren but am not sure about the others.

I am getting mixed opinions about the proximity sensor and glass-tampering sensor, one guy said yes because they will help, and another other guy said no because the shock sensor is enough. I am leaning towards yes because my car and I have been the victim of vandalism 3 times already, I have spent a lot of $ modifying my car, and I think anything to increase security will be worth it.

Also, Compustar alarms only have 2 outputs, so I will only be able to choose 2 of these.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions/recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

DEI 520T battery backup module. The backup sirens are not as good as a module. The modules have become very cheap on ebay probably because of me.

Are you talking about Compustar brand sensors? I am not aware of these so I can't comment on them. However, every motion sensor I have heard of SUCKS except for the AU94T from Crutchfield. Even this will require fine tuning by YOU, not the installer. Once it's dialed in, it is incredibly effective.

Shock sensors suck. I don't even run one. Someone can easily break your glass or steal your wheels w/out triggering the shock sensor. All shock sensors do is cause false alarms.

Glass breakage sensors are great. DEI's in particular.

"Also, Compustar alarms only have 2 outputs, so I will only be able to choose 2 of these." Nonsense. You could theoretically hook up an infinite amount of sensors using 14N001 diodes. However, more than 3 sensors is severe overkill, and 2 is sufficient.

Thanks for the info suspendedhatch!

So I should go with the DEI 520T battery backup module rather than the DEI 515R siren with backup battery...

And I should also go with the DEI 506T glass break/audio sensor...sounds good!

I haven't heard of any Compustar brand sensors, I was referring to DEI. Also, I meant that Compustar alarms only come with 2 outputs to add additional features, but I was told you can get a module that will allow you to add more.

Question...so do you think I should look into the Crutchfield AU94t, or would the above be sufficient??? Please let me know. Thanks!
