Default b18c5 into eg origionally d15b

hi there,

planning on swapping a b18c5 into my eg civic but im fairly new to this, ive swapped various engines but only of the same type. I ve never swapped and engine for a complete different one.

how much work is involved in a swap like this?

I just got a price for a b18c4 has this is the only one they have in at the moment and gave me a price of £1000 for the engine with 48k on it, dixxy, ecu, tranny, driveshafts and manifold and downpipe. (dont think theres anything else i need unless i need the wiring loom, the b18c4 is coming out of a 98 model but my eg is a 91 jdm d15b)

is the b18c4 any different to the b18c5 besides the red rocker cover.

what mountings will i need

i did mate i looked it up first but no b18c4 in there, according to the other forumn there hard to get old of, found out that the b18c4 is around 170 to 180 bhp where as the b18c5 is 195 i think, but i'd rather lose the extra 15bhp or so if the c4 will bolt straight in. Will the mounts still be in the same place??

cheers u lot for ur halp so far... very much appreciated

This is dumb logic. B-series motors are virtually identical, if your looking at it from a swap standpoint.

If you want to swap the B18C5 into a EG, Its pretty straight forward. I'm going to assume you have the entire swap ready like this:

B18C5 Engine and Transmission (complete) with all mounts, linkage and engine harness.

B-series axles (From any 94+ Integra or B-series civic/del Sol)

OBD1 Distributor from a B16 or B18.

OBD1 Injectors (maybe)

Its pretty much a bolt-in process.

It's equivalent to a B18C1.
