HIDs produce less heat.

jdm itr are hid. the beam pattern is biased towards the left so oncoming cars will get glare.

Ok im confused, you asked like 4 different questions and answered one of them...lol you asked if the jdm headlights came in HID only then at the end you said you got the regular jdm headlights that weren't HID... then asked that your "real" questions was " if I bought the reagular jdm lights and got the HID kit seperate would the lights get damaged or even melt?"

How would the headlights melt? The plastic is the same wether its HID or not... They also wouldn't make HID's that would melt the plastic.

JDM HID bulbs have a special coating on them. I don't know what it is, but its antiglare from my experience and gives it that clean cutoff. You can probably find a similar coating aftermarket, but I don't know what it is.

So if you get the housings and aftermarket HID kit, it will glare like crazy, I know, I did it and eventually moved to the JDM HID and its a world of difference.

For the real deal, look to pay around $500 for housings and 900-1k for the housings + HIDs. I paid $1k for mine in mint condition. I've seen guys get them off eBay (becareful of replica) for around $700-900

yes jdm headlights comes hid and non hid. i said Integra Type R comes only in HID. the beam pattern of jdm is opposite of LHD bec they drive on the other side. the top cut off on the beam goes up towards the left thus blinding the oncoming traffic HID or non HID.

JDM HID headlights are designed for the HID lights. That is why they don't have glare. As all OEM HID equipped cars do.
