Default very bouncy tein coilovers...wats wrong with them ?

hey there ppl, i have a set of tein circuit master type re coilovers in my 96 itr. now the problem is the front seems extremely soft and bouncy, mainly over dips in the road which cause it to bounce along the road, not so much on small bumps. ie drving over bumpy road at night the headlight beam waves up an down like mad! its extremely umcomfortable and annoying, the rears however are really stiff and good. is the cause of this the settings that are used ? as when i tighten the spring preload it makes it worse? wat is the ideal preload setting? any useful tips appreciated! cheers

It kinda sounds like the front dampers are blown. Check for any leaks from the piston seals (where it enters the shock body). Also try bouncing each front corner of your car up & down with your hands. The car should stop itself as soon as you let go of it. If it keeps bouncing by itself, they are blown.

i immediately suspected blown dampers as well so pulled one off and there was no visible oil leaks at al looked pretty clean around the whole shock body....also did the bounce trick it is softer than the back but doesnt bounce after you let it go....ie returns quite quickly. it just seems weird they were fine until i started playin with the settings so thought ive adjusted it out of whack. anymore suggestions appreciated cheers !!
