Default Clearing monitors on ECU.

I failed smog because my ECU's monitors were just reset after i pulled the battery power. The smog tech said that i needed to drive the car while the ECu monitors reset. I checked with my code scanner, and it says that the evap monitor scan is incomplete. what do i need to do to get the evap to get checked out.

thanks, let me know if you have any questions.

Your are not clearing the monitor. You are setting it to completed.
However to pass smog in CA not all monitors have to be set. It is usually 6 of the eight monitors.

For the evap monitor... check your gas cap and make sure it is tight.

There are drive cycles specified by the manufactures to complete these monitors, You can check into this. Sorry, I don't have access to get you what you need to do.

You're just going to have to drive the car around, in varied conditions, over a few drive cycles. A drive cycle is NOT simply cycling your key from off/on/off.

I'd say more than likely - yes.

OBD2 mandated that a pinhole (.040") be detected in the EVAP plumbing, so I'd say yeah it needs to run.

To reiterate again!

Oh Yeah, Drive cycles To count as one drive cycle the car has to be colder than 160deg. and driven over 160deg. to start another drive cycle the car has to cool down below 160deg again.
