Default Fuel consumption on 5speed?

Those who have done an auto-to-5speed conversion, this is a qustion for you fine people:
What fuel consumption did you get before and after the conversion?
I am contemplating on doing a swap for the lower fuel consumprion primarily...
Here in EU 1 gallon of 98 octane petrol costs some $5.27..... (1L - $1.39) so you catch my drift
Any info greatly appreciated

Oh, forgot to add - I'm most interested in a 2.2L PGM-Fi in normal driving conditions

I shift anywhere from 3k to 4k...

in city, I usually get 23-24mpg, highway at 70-80mph I get 29mpg.

the change in MPG wont be worth the time or cost of the conversion, if you are only doing it for a gain in MPG. i have a 96 lx auto and i get 32 mpg consistently with city/highway mix driving.

isn't running on fumes bad for your fuel pump?

I usually do between 350 and 400 on about 14 gallons, depending on my driving. Last week, I did 390 and the light just came on. This is with an 02 accord I4 auto.

Well, with the auto setup that I have, I get as far as 400km on 55L which is um... 248 miles on 14.5gallons...? (17.5mpg city) So this is really shitty. And the thing is, its always been that way... I figure, the cost of doing a swap would be covered after not so considerable a distance.
And I desperately needed that 5th on the german autobahn )

One more thing occurred to me, (I am only a home grown mechanic so please be patient with me)
If I do go ahead with the conversion, will my Cruise Control work, or is it only for A/Ts?

no the cruise will work no prob but maybe you should do a tune up and check your water temp sensor i have heard it makes the car run overly rich if its fouled at all and how do u drive your car...if autobahn then no good for gas mileage

Thanks guys! Much appreciated!
This gave me a pretext to do the swap... over time I'll try to get hold of the parts (the car here was never offered here in Poland, so no junkyard option)
As for the sensor... hm, never heard of it do that, but will check it out, though I am sure that the car runs as it did when new (bought it jan 1992 so I know it well)
I'm just wondering if it is the fact that it is the F22A2 + A/T that just goes that way in this Accord.

So, I guess I'll be doing a swap... keep engine, and get new tranny. 50 fill-ups and the cost will be covered :D
