Default Door locks on seventh generation accord

This might be a stupid question, but is anyone else annoyed that the door lock on the accord sticks out of the car? It's almost summer and I like to hang my arm out the window but the lock sticks up right in the way! Any solution? Am I alone?

I noticed the same thing on my 6th gen. I think we just have to deal with it. There is probably some way to do it, but it isn't cost effective.

You shouldn't have any problems in taking off your door panel and chopping down the peg of the lock and then just reattaching it, it'll shorten the height without any problems

If your car has side airbags, you shouldn't hang your arm out the window. The sweat from your arm can do damage to the paint and door interior after a while. My neighbor used to hang his arm out the window all the time, and he ended up with a rusting door. Of course this did not happen overnight. Just my 2 cents on the subject. Take it like you want.

I was thinking of just sawing the top of it off or something...haha i don't know how great of an idea that would be. I don't think I'm ready to take off the entire door to make that adjustment.

Ah I understand, I've seen a guy do it on his Protege so I don't see why it wouldn't work on an accord.

Hah! Funny solution that I just stumbled on during my drive this morning, the lock *** actually unscrews and comes off. So now I can happily hang my arm out of my car window, which I am going to do, rust or no rust.
